About Doer Football Camps
Doer Football Camps is a football skills and enrichment camp based in Detroit, Michigan. We at Doer Football Camps have one main objective, to inspire and prepare the next generation of football players to achieve their dreams. Doer Football Camps is a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization that endeavors to teach high school athletes the values of sportsmanship, manhood, accountability, resources, and faith, to help student-athletes become not only great players but great individuals. Our Founders James Doerer, Terrence Lane, Miles Dearing, and Donald McGlone did not have much guidance and were not recruited heavily out of high school. Yet have had continued success at the next level. This was a long process for each of us that tested our faith but made us grateful for our persistence and determination. We feel rewarded to be able to share some of our experiences and trials to help others understand and progress on their own journey. We each have learned a lot about life through football and wanted to emphasize and teach some of the intangible pieces that are necessary to be not only a better football player but a better person. As football players that were under-recruited out of high school for a variety of reasons we knew as soon as we could, we would give back. We wanted to open doors for young men in our community so they too could have the same opportunity we have of being college athletes. Our goal is to give our campers the blueprint to achieve their dreams on and off the field. We plan to do that by bringing together a large collection of College athletes and NFL players current and former from DIII to DI levels to coach on the Fundamentals of Football. This is while having College Coaches across the country come to our event to evaluate these young men. Along with this, we will be having workshops on the recruitment process, the new Name, Image, and Likeliness rules, and Financial Literacy for our young men/women, preparing them to be smart with their money for when they get to the next stage of life. Our camp will be giving young men/women the resources to take their future into their own hands. By the end of the camp, there should be no parent, school, or coach that can stop our campers from paving their way and getting to the next level in life and in football. Along with our programming, we are using sportsmanship and accountability to develop our campers as young men/women as well as players. With your help, we can accomplish our mission of providing this opportunity to as many kids as possible in our area. Doer Camps provide high school athletes with fundamental skills, information about the college recruitment process, and financial literacy. More than a skills camp, Doer Football Camps is a nonprofit 501c3 organization that endeavors to teach high school athletes the values of sportsmanship, manhood, accountability, resources, and faith, to help student-athletes become not only great players but great individuals.
